I haven't seen an acrylic pen done like this before (I'm sure it has been done though), and I've wanted to do a segmented pen like this ever since I first saw one like it. Possibly a little advanced for my first one, but overall it came out pretty well! Definitely an adventure, though.

Accidentally welded my drill bit to the blank because I had half an inch to go and didn't relieve it quick enough.
Then had to smash the blank to get the bit out.
Managed to find most of the pieces and glue it back together.
Cut the segments on a really old bandsaw with no sled or track.
Glued it all together with a couple gaps...
Almost shattered it on the lathe.
Finished it and assembled no problem!

Many lessons learned! Comments and recommendations welcome!

Nice. I got in a rush and had to break apart a nice acrylic blank. Surprising how hot a bit will get in just a few seconds.
