What a classy looking pen. I really like the full ivory as opposed to the pieces cast in acrylic. Very nice looking pen! Can I ask where you got the Woolly Mammoth ivory pieces large enough for a blank?

Jeff -- a compliment and a caution

Compliment - nice pen!!!

Caution -- keep your paperwork documenting the source and certifications related to the ivory. That piece is very light colored and lacks the typical flaws commonly seen in mastadon ivory. Here in the far north, the limitations on ivory, people gaming the system to by renaming unmarketable ivory, with varied State and local regulations have created huge impacts for carvers and craftspeople. There are "Ivory Cops" out there.

I showed your pen to my son and he was impressed. His first question was the same as Jim's above. Where do you get woolly mammoth ivory. I have had rather bad luck trying hunt one. Seems I am always just 10,000 years too late or a few hundred dollars short.

It is an impressive pen though.
