Hello All
It been a few day since I had the chance to do any turning what with getting home late then the snow and having to shovel and the cold. I got home a littler earlier today so I was able to cut, drill, tube and square a blank of spalted black cherry (thanks Jim Burr). This is the first time I've turned any spalted wood, I was surprised on how soft it is. This blank took a nice finish for being so soft. I used WTF as I have been in this case 7 costs. The kit is a Black Woodcraft Premier. I think is a good pairing with the blank.
As always any and all comments are welcome.

Dan, that is a great looking pen! Super blank and it really goes with the kit. That is a keeper for sure! I am liking the all black cigar!

Thanks for the comments. Evelyn picked out the kit, I wasn't sure about the black but once I got it together it's nice. It looks like I'll be taking a break for a day or two and do something that just as fun as turning. Spending time with the grand kids. The first picture is part of our grand kids we have 13 in all with mom's and dads. The second picture is the 5 we'll have over on Saturday.

Good going on that pen Dan.

I remember the times with my Grandkids, 99.5% fun. Now it is time with Great Grandkids, 110% fun.
