Some friends and my wife and I were walking along the beach and my friend
asked if I thought I could make a pen out of just anything,I said the fun is in trying,if you know that you can do it then it's just turning another pen.
He bent over and picked up a piece on wood handed it to me and said " make me a pen with this"then".
It wasn't the best looking piece of wood, small, bent and partially burnt. There was an old fire pit near where we were walking, but there was a sort of interesting looking bend in the grain. Sooooo, thanks for looking

I'd say your buddy owes you a six-pack of your favorite frosty cold beverage in exchange for that very cool pen. Pretty nice figure in there for being just a scrap of beach firewood. Well done!

Mark, That is one Heck of a Pen,
A partially cremated piece of Beach drift wood,
Converted in you hands into such a Magnificent Pen. WOW.
The only down side I can see is, What challenge is your "Friend" going to set you next?
Congratulations,
Brian.

Great story and a very nice pen. This will give your friend a story to tell about the pen and how you took a simple piece of unburned firewood and made a beautiful pen.
