When I got the lathe I'm using from the school, I got two pre-drilled blue cylinders. I decided to make a pen for my wife from one of them. She is partial to the comfort pens so I bought a PSI Brushed Satin Comfort kit, cut and turned the blanks and had her Christmas. I really do not have any idea what the material is. Before turning I would have sworn that is was some sort of dyed and stabilized wood. After turning, it had a much more plastic appearance.
