whitetail deer antler and mesquite

On my last day of vacation I heard the antler calling for me. I had to do it. I combined the antler with mesquite burl and did a custom center band, this is what I got. polished to 12k dry mm then ca/blo again to 12k mm. Sorry about the pics, I'm still learning this new camera I got from Yoyospin. All comments welcome.

Since you ask, I will be brave and tell you what I think, and keep in mind that it is solely my opinion. I do not like gold with antler. The gold to brown to black to white, it just doesn't work. Simply changing the nib and clip to black chrome and I think the pen would improve 10 fold. As I imagine that, then I think I like it with the wood spliced in.

Hi, i never would have thought to splice the wood with the antler in that manner. I think it looks nice. Carl
