It is not inlaid. Its in relief and very much attached. Cast red around the casein and carved most of it away.Excellent, am I mistaken or is the dragon not inlaid but attached as a relief?
Close but no star. Casein was turned, red PR cast around, turned again, then CNC all the red away except for the dragon. Took 4 tries and considerable set up time. Requires near 0 run out.I'll guess that the casein was turned and then lasered. Then re-cast in
red PR and turned again. If I'm right, do I get a star? :tongue:
I'm looking forward to doing something like this soon. It's been on my list
of things to try, but I never quite got around to it.
This pen should get me re-motivated. it looks great!

PR stuck to my casein real well.Charlie,
I believe this method would result in flying PR. The bond to the casein is unlikely to be strong enough to stay attached as PR is removed.
The method is, however, interesting. Try it with PR and PR, rather than casein.
Just my 2 cents worth-----you're welcome!!:biggrin::biggrin:
Yeah - but the second one I could get down to $6500NEAT!!! But, based on minimum hourly wage, I'd guess about $7000????
