I built a pretty simple jig for my bandsaw to cut celtic knots. Turned out the blade was noticeably thicker than my aluminum. Hence, the yuckiness in the ca I filled it with. I also flipped the blank and cut it wrong halfway through. I almost chucked it, but decided to press on and see it through, as it's my first solo knot of any sort.

Looks more like a half-hitch than a celtic knot

I'm sure your next one will be spot on!

"different" == and probably should not be labeled as the objective --

but as a creative inlay/segmentation project, has an attractive appearance -- someone should be excited about it. (But do not describe it as a failed experiment -- just as the outcome of some experimentation you were doing).

Looks good from what I can see. The background is alittle distracting.

Yeah, I'll probably just go back to the folded white t-shirt background. I used that one for a white pen because it didn't need a white background. I like it, but I've seen that image hundreds of times and it no longer distracts.

Nice job. Where did you get the plans for the jig?

No plans. Just guessed and eyeballed. It's how I operate. I took a piece that fit in the sled track, used a couple of wood screws to mount it to a 2x2 at what looked close to 45 degrees, then used a small block screwed down to the side to serve as a stop for the blank you're cutting into. It's pretty effective, I plan on building a better one when I get up the wherewithal.

In the spirit of "NO PICS DIDN'T HAPPEN" here:

There's the jig on the saw ready for action.

And that's the underside. Didn't take long to build once I'd decided on a direction to go with it.
