I finally just figured I'd jump in and do one! I ordered my parts made a few jigs all of which I found here. I practiced my ca finish on scraps and sharpened lathe tools. So here is my first attempt it is a simple fun line bottom of the barrel with wood from Landfilllumber I finished with BLO/CA and used my digital caliper instead of relying on the bushings. Please be gentle but honest its the only way Ill learn to make a great pen.
Thanks

First of all, some thing is not right with the photo, I click on it and it will not blow up so I can't see it very well. But from what I can see it looks like you are off to a great start.
