I made this wedding pen set for our nephew (who is also our godson) & his lovely bride who got married in Mesa, AZ this past weekend.

credits:
Blanks: Golden Pearl Stardust & Midnight Sky Stardust from Exotic Blanks
Pen Kits: Majestic Squires from PSI
Box: Engraved oversize redwood box from WoodTurningz
Photo: by iPhone
Photo touchup: Photoshop on a Mac Airbook
Photo background: the top of a Best Western microwave

I actually messed up on the box & ordered a regular size box, but they are only good for slimline pens. I had to reorder the box and Woodturningz was kind enough to expedite my reorder & ship it to our hotel in Mesa so I would get it in time for the wedding.

I'm going to have to try that microwave trick for photography.
Looks like it works. Good to know of box source.
I like the pen set - I'm sure the bride and groom will like it.
Thanks for showing.

Very nice Edgar, it looks like you got the kits in time to get them done. I'll bet they loved them.

Mike

I did, but just barely.
I used the tubes from the kits you sent me to paint & glue-up the blanks and start turning before I got the Gold Tn/Chrome kits. I like the Gold Tn/Black Tn kits too, but I thought these made a better wedding set. I will use the kits you sent me very soon though.
Thanks for helping me out.

Thanks, Gordon.
The proper rosewood boxes to use for Sierra & larger pens are the PKBOXOS1 or PKBOXOS2. They aren't listed on the Woodturningz web site or in their catalog, but they usually have them in stock. You can get them from PSI, but WT is a little cheaper & they do a great job on engraving.

The rosewood boxes shown on their web site are the BOXR1 and BOXR2. Even though their photos show Sierra style pens in those boxes, they are only suitable for slimlines. That's not what messed me up though - I knew better because I've used both size boxes in the past. I just got in a hurry this time & forgot that I needed to request the oversize box by email.
