Bought some Walrus Ivory this week----part of that spending to much money on blanks deal.
Super nice stuff----one must be very heat consious when working with this but the results are great.
This is part of my higher end pens we are trying to get made for our next show.
Kit is a Jr Statesman FP
Only finish is a coat of TSW

Great pen, Gary.

Is it porous? Or is that just the color?

With just TSW, I'm guessing that's color, but why guess???

Nice look, anyhow!

It's very solid---the color is almost tiny dots.
Ed it's like taking a pic of a piece of glass and showing the detail without getting the shine.
It turns better than Antler because it is more dense and harder.
That's where the-- watch out how hot you get it comes into play.
Someone asked me what a pen like this sells for----it has a solid 14k gold nib from Anthony--price $350.00.

Mark this was a all day adventure---driving over a 100 miles and spending way to much money. This was the only blank of walrus I could even talk them into selling me. I did also get 10 blanks of Sambar---also super nice to wotk with. Heck I sell a couple of pens and I will be back in the chips again.[:)]
