Hi all,
Heres the one i,ve been doing for my Dad, which i think is quite appropriate as he,s a mechanical engineer. The barrel is desert ironwood with a CA finish, only the second time i,ve attepted this. I was hoping there would be more cracks or voids in the blank but the more i turned off the smaller they got, the ones that were left i have filled with black steel dust of my Dads lathe.
Also i tried photographing outside on a baking tray today.

Rich, its eay to line up the facets when the pen is assembled - just use two wrenches and turn until the facets line up. Use either a paper towel, cloth or tape to keep from scratching the finish.

might not have been a good idea to align the facets, the kits must be made out of a soft metal as the wrench/spanner has cut into two of the edges on the tip, oh well lesson learnt.
