Can anyone identify this wood? I have a lot of wood blanks from purchasing unidentified assortments. I need to find a book which identifies woods with colored photos. Anyone know of such a books? I should google it.

The best reference book I know of is `Identifying wood` by R Bruce Hoadley , Taunton press . The best picture reference site is Hobbit House HobbitHouse Wood ID site .

I believe the Vail is from Bear Tooth Woods. Is it very similar to a Jr. Gent I ??

I have never made the Jr. Gent I. The pen is from BTW. It is a much larger than I had imagined. It would be perfect for Andre the Giant. Nice enough pen but I prefer smaller pens.
