This is a pen I just completed. I really don't know what type of wood the bottom part is made of. It came out of a box of "stuff".
The top is African Ebony. I drilled a 5.5 mm hole through the center and placed a bamboo chopstick through the center. I then drilled, sanded, and CA'd it.
Since bamboo is considered a grass the tip of the bamboo stick provides a unique visual effect once you CA it.
