I just finshed this today and really like it,and so does my mom which is very strange (the last Jr. gent I made she told me it was the uglyst pen she ever saw, I think she was having a bad week!)

Travis, Sure looks like Buckeye. This wood makes nice pens. Especially if it's been stabilized.
I'm glad they liked this one.

I can see why she didn't like it. I think it is a very masculine pen and I like it. I think it looks like buckeye burl too. I have buckeye wood and it doesn't look anything like this, though some of the buckeye wood I've seen has some of this color, just not the figure.
