Two recent slimlines

First one is from a slab of manzanita burl I'm slowly working thru. Really like this wood. Lots of character. It's on a black slimline kit with a custom ebony centerband. Finish is CA. As usual not very good depth on the finish. Can't seem to work out how much to sand vs how many coats to start with. Second one is some of Nolan's outrageous redwood burl on same kit type. Friction polish finish. Scared to try CA with the beads.

Wow, that manzanita is pretty! The redwood is gorgeous, too. I'm with you on the CA finish on the beads, that's scary. You nailed it with the friction polish, beautiful pens!

Nice to see good looking pens that aren't done on 40.00 kits, I'm getting to the point that I must be turning into a Luddite, simple is good, bling is bad, form and function are what tinkle my bells[B)][B)][B)][B)][B)][)][8D]
