These two beauties are from Keith Long - I am having some problem getting the colors to come out .... I need to get my camera book out and see if I have something set up wrong

Try a gray background, or possibly an HDR attempt is in order. It looks as if you exposed properly for the top pen, but blew out the lower.

Also, check your white balance, you may be off there a touch.

Well neither wood is the right color but the metal parts are....I'll look at the white balance but I seem to recall someone telling me to do something with it...but I did go back on auto for a day and maybe it got changed there.

Easiest fix Smitty is to photo them seperately, that way the meter in the camera can figure you a 'medium' setting for the individual item. HDR will definitely help with the colored background....



But on a side note....I'm really digging that chuck of Spalted Hackberry(awesomenessness)!!!!
