Turning Gemstone

This is the first "Gemstone" blank I have turned. It started out really bad. The lower blank blew out twice, once on each end, showing the brass tube. I almost tossed it in the trash but decided to glue the pieces back together each time and it actually turned out ok. The second photo is my second pen made with Gemstone Leopard Skin and everything went just fine. Gotta go very slow, taking small cuts or else!

I like the gemstones. They make nice pens, but you do have to have a light touch. Turkhunter
