I made this for my friend Hanna, who just got a new, much better job. She has an eclectic personality, so I wanted an eclectic pen. This is a Berea Turbin pen, that I purchased from Woodcraft. The blank is an acrylic acetate from Exotic Blanks called Atomic Green Mesh. I love the blank! The pen? Not so much. Its quality is, unfortunately, suspect. The click mechanism is very rough; it hangs up when retracting sometimes; the refill tip doesn't protrude very far; and on this one the nib cover is machined incorrectly so it leaves a gap. I haven't decided whether to try to fix it myself, or contact Woodcraft for a replacement. I do like the design of the pen, it has a whimsical feel to it. But the negatives are enough to cause me to not want to make another one. What a shame.

I had originally planned on making the bodies straight. But I decided to give them a slight bulge to match the lines of the pen, especially the clip. I'm glad I did, I like how it looks.
