Tru Stone White Turquoise from R and B Crafts. Jr. Statesman kit.

This material was very nice to turn. I even had some nice ribbons coming off the tool. The pen has a very nice weight. This is sanded from 400 grit to about 4000 mm. I tried sanding up to 12000mm but felt it looked more like marble at the 4000 grit. So I resanded and I am happy with the fit and finish.

Comments welcome.

I know the photo falls short.

Looks good. I have some of the same Tru-Stone that I've been staring at for some time now, not sure what kit I wanted to pair it up with. It looks like you made a nice choice, I may have to follow suit.

Thanks for sharing, very well done!

Very nice pen. I have yet to turn any Tru Stone. I have several blanks but am waiting to set up my sharpening system before I get started. Did you have any problems with the blank fragmenting?

Dan,

I thought it turned easily. Not problems with cracking or chipping. I just took my time and used a mix if a skew and gouge. I look forward to making more.
