I took one of my seconds that I rejected because of the way the end came out on the thread wrap. There was a boo boo that I didn't notice until it came back from castin. Instead of throwing it in the trash, I took my parting tool and cut down to the brass tube on both ends of the blank. I then took some acrylic drops and cut them to length after drilling them for the pen tube and then glued them on to each end. After turning the whole thing down and sanding and polishing I think it came out pretty good for something that otherwise would have been thrown in the trash.

Ted, so good you couldn't have planned it and gotten a more attractive and technically impressive result. Lovely from end to end.

Thank you y'all. The really amazing part is, I'm color blind and usually have my wife pick out colors for things. She was unavailable at the time so I just picked up a piece of acrylic that I thought would look good and sort of contrast the yellow of the center.
