This isn't really a brag pen. This is the first time I've used Pipemakers tortoiseshell lucite. I painted the tube and blank bright yellow and, because I was worried about transparency I tried a new way to fatten up the already fat cigar.

What you can't see very well in the photo is that the blank over yellow winds up looking like a piece of burl with a very deep lacquer coat. Didn't really need the fat blank after all.

The yellow shows through, so the brass would. Although, if I want a 'brass' lookI would paint the inside of the blank gold. It saves the effort of trying (and failing) to get the glue to cover perfectly.

I like the bead work, the material is also nice, also I like the way you added meat to the lower barrel the pen looks pretty darned nice to me.;)
