From what I can see, you're off to a great start -- great looking pen. I will say, however, that I find the background in the picture a little to busy/distracting to really appreciate the pen.

You are indeed in the game based on your first pen. LOOKING good!!
I think Barry has a point about the background.

btw
never...never...never get rid of it,
even if someone offers you 10 zillion dollars for it ..[:D][:D][:D]

Thanks for the feedback.

Will be getting some better background material today and will repost the pictures.

Answer to the finish questions:

Sanded thru 320 grit
2 coats of Mylands Sanding Sealer 0000 Steel Wool in between each coat
1 coat of Mylands Friction polish
1 coat of Renaissance Wax to finish - includes metal parts.

I got the Zebrawood blank from Stan in WV - mrcook4570

Also turned a Traditional COE Fountain pen with Cocobolo blank I got from Roger Garrett - will post those pics when I get a new background to shoot against [:D]

Thanks all for your suggestions, comments and support.

I actually made 2 first pens last Saturday - The Zebrawood we have been discussing here - Mine Forever and a Traditional COE Fountain Pen from a Cocobolo blank I got from Roger Garrett. The LOML took one look at it and I haven't seen it since. Can't even get a hold of it long enough for a picture yet.

Oh Well - Back to the shop soon.

Thanks Again
