Gold Jr Gent w/Thuya Burl....

I like burl but sometimes it doesn't like me.... 1st blank exploded during drilling, and I thought I was very careful but you never know with burls....

Nice work. I know what you mean with burls. I had a rosewood burl come apart on me after it was all finished. After the CA finish i used a razor blade to cut around the bushings. Well I don't think I cut all the way through in a spot so when I popped the bushing off it took some of the end of the blank with it. And all because it was a burl. It pulled off right at the grain. Anyway great job, and I hope that the bad exp with the burl doesn't stop you from using it. Keep up the good work.
