Here are three new pens I made! I started turning again Thursday last week and I made my first Panache pen. Tonight, I made another Victorian Twist and a Slimline Ballpoint.

The Slimline did cause me some trouble tonight. When I was putting the parts together, the bottom blank split, so I added some thin CA glue to fill it and strengthen it. It doesn't look as pretty as before, but it'll do. I'm still getting used to CA glue finishes on pens.

Love your Panache, and Victorian Twist, Avi.
What was the Blank on the Panache?
Regarding the Slimline,Trying to determine what happened to Split the Timber when it is supported with the Brass Tube, Did the Wood Split because the Mechanism was pressed in off Square?

Thanks, Brian! The blank on the Panache is something I picked up at the nearest Woodcraft store. It's called Alternate Ivory. That blank turns like butter and looks great! For the purple band, it's Mono Swirls - Wizard's Mist Purple, a blank I got from Exoticblanks!

As for the slimline, I think I should have sanded the ends of the blanks a little before putting the pen together. I know some people do that in case some glue got on the end. I'm still pretty inexperienced at CA finishing. I love the look of a nice CA finish, but I also love leaving the wood more natural with just some wood polish. I owe it to myself to learn and perfect my skills, though.

Those are excellent! When I first started doing CA pens I had a lot of cracks because I would forget to run a file inside the tube to remove any glue. CA can only expand so much before it cracks. Always a good idea to check that before assembly.
