Very nice looking woodwork there.

I hate to be the stick in the mud, but I don’t like the refill. It looks like dirty hubcaps on a Ferrari.

Why is it the last?

there is always the last behind the last [:D][:D][:D]
I can explain it well to you in French [:D][:D]
The blank is centered. I divide the diameter into three. I shift the center
of 8 mm on each ligne.
then I turned the blank at the round, 20 mm
I form the right part with the same diameter as the hole of the cap by
keeping enough wood on the left like on the right.
then has left I shift my first center while keeping or not the center
of right-hand side
I turn the first with dimensions of my triangle. Attention to keep
sufficient wood on the left.
sandpapering and completion because one does not return afterwards any
more.then to change the second center and to start again with the third center.
for the cap, I bore it to 11 mm and I thread it on a support adapted
to put it at the round and to center the right part.
then I thread it very tight on the right part of the pen and I turn
the final form. Send to me a photograph of your tests.

good luck

Very nice!

This three sided design is sort of what I had in my mind when I started the thread about geometry and having an equilateral triangle inside a circle.

Does the wood stay centered at the headstock while you move the end at the tail stock to all three points of your triangle?

I would love to see pictures through the whole process.
