A knife maker I know had a piece of oosic(fossilized penile bone from a Walrus). It was not the quality of material he wanted to use, so he decided to do the thing he thought the funniest with it. He gave it to me. Being an adventurous turner that I am, I thought what could happen. So I went to work on it. It turned a lot like any other bone. I used a Sterling Silver plated Cambridge Rollerball.

I'll forgo the obvious puns:wink: and just say well done! I've got a piece that I'm saving for the right pen and customer.

Did you put the end in thin CA to absorb it and fill the pores? What did you use for a finish?

Thanks.

It took 2 days for me to find a good way to post it.

The same thing that is said about "great minds" can be said about "humorous minds":clown::angel::rotfl:

I've tried typing like 6 comments and I just can't come up with one that isn't going to get censored. I tell ya, Life's hard when you got the mentality of a 12 year old!

My, my.....great pen, interesting material......BUT?

How does one 'gauge the quality' of a penile bone? Is there a school with a graduate course or something?
