Mike (the other, not necessarily the better, half) at MLKWoodWorking posted last week how he first uses accelerator on olive wood prior to applying CA as a finish. After having several issues with olive wood, I knew I had to give it a try this weekend.

Here is BOW on a Fisher of Men sierra. I still can't take a good photo (I should have mentioned earlier my poor-boy photo tent is an almost white towel draped over the top of the washing machine), but this one really has a nice shine to it. Thanks Mike for the tip!

I read that previous post from Mike and I did my last batch of olive with a heavy shot of accelerator before putting on the CA. It worked great. Thanks Mike.

What is in accelerator? I was guessing that accelerator would do about the same as rubbing it down with acetone, but after giving it a try I think the accelerator works better.
