I was finally able to finish this wedding set for my wife's best friend. I owe it all to Ed (ed4copies). I have been having problems with finishing the blanks and he was able to set me straight. We are not sure if we are going to have them engraved or not. Ultra Cigar kits with Alt Ivory and Black Acrylic.

These look beautiful.
In my opinion (yes, everyone has one..) pens don't benefit at all by engraving
them. I've seen beautiful pens and I've seen nice engraving. But to my eye
the engraving always detracts from the pens.
Engraving the box can accomplish the same thing without ruining your work.

But hey .. I still wear plaids and striped together, so what does that say
for my sense of style?

Well it was a 6 month process, lol. It started with decent skew work. Then I tried regular micro mesh dry and then wet. Then I tried Plastic Finishing pads wet. Then I tried Micro-Gloss. Then I got smart and talked to Ed and used Tripoli and White Diamond. The problem that I had was with the Black and not the Alt Ivory. It still has some micro scratches in it but my poor photo skills hide those, lol. I am still having problems with it but it is a learning process.

Thank you all for the nice comments.

Great work Rob. You have just given me a ray of hope that maybe I can get up the nerve to turn the great stuff that I purchased from "eroticblanks.com

TO CLARIFY!!!

NO EROTIC BLANKS WERE COVERED

IN OUR CONVERSATION!!!!

Rob was foolish enough to attempt to turn a BLACK plastic. I BELIEVE there is NO LESS FORGIVING MATERIAL on earth than BLACK plastic. So, we talked for a few minutes about how to minimize the scratches.

Rob had already nailed the Alternative Ivory!

They look great Rob...Heres a thought...Keep the pens beautiful. Make or buy a box for the pens and have it engraved. That way you maintain the beauty of the pen and it makes a nice keep sake for the owner.
