Roy (Oklahoman) provided the inspiration and the casting for this one. Is imitation the most sincere form of flattery or just plain stealing?

Roy also sent me this beautiful stick of American Chestnut burl. I just love working with beautiful wood.

He also threw in one of his famous cactus blanks, but that will have to wait for more shop time!

Thank you, Roy. I appreciate your kindness, generosity and friendship.

Thanks to each of you for the kind comments. Not only did Roy give me the American chestnut burl, but he also gave me a beautiful piece of Texas Mountain Laurel. Photos in the next couple of days!

Lou, Just got back from a show and saw these, it remained me why I gave the chestnut to you. I wanted someone who made pretty wooden pens to do it Justice.
You most certanly did, thank you my friend.....
