This blank was only an eighth wider than the bushings. Drilling and turning was done very carefully so as not to kill the blank or make it unusable for the Zen kit. Plus, that sapwood was like mush, so I had to keep coating in CA to stop it falling apart.

There was a small hole, which I decided to fill with Coral.

Finish is CA.

Stephen, In my post yesterday "Name that Wood" I was asking if anyone could help identify the wood. Your pen looks very similar (your photos are much better). Was your wood HARD as a rock and did it have a camphor like odor to it when turned?

Yes and yes. Looks like TRB to me, however, the sapwood was more yellow and quite mushy. Your sapwood looks too hard.
