It has a lot of issues but I thought I would share.

Segmented center band and lower body. I tried using blank CA for the lower body but it did not work out well. next time I will use wood veneer. Center band was made from glued up angle segments. I'll post more details later.

This is how I made the center band:

1) Used some off the shelf stock from woodcraft.
2) Glued it up to a specific width.
3) Made angle cuts on the table saw.
4) Cut them to the same width.
5) Glued the angles together. When you glue the angles nothing is flat, what you do not see are the pieces before I cut the top and bottom flat.
6) Here I cut the side 90 degress to the top and bottom.
7) I cut 45 degree angles and glued 4 pieces together.

very nice I have been thinking about doing a centerband like that for a while but never seem to get around to it.

Wow! That is really nice work. How did you get the thin black line between the segments on the lower barrel? It looks very sharp.
