A taste of the grape

Looks like we will try and make anything into a pen. My son was clearing out some grape vines in his yard and I thought those are big enough to make a pen from. After dying in the microwave and soaking in red dye for a couple days I have a pen. I'll likely give it to the woman who makes my wine for me.

So how the grape vine to turn. Did you have to stabilize it?

Turns easily enough. It's like a bunch of straws all stuck together. I used thin CA to stabilize and fill the grooves. Kind of a sweet smell while working it. I'll make a couple more with the pieces I have left and give them away.
