Tasmanian Blackwood

Made on my design Pen Mill and the lathe pen is quilted and cut on the cross. It is a hard timber that can burn drills however it finishes well and with across lighting can give the effect of shot silk. The timber comes from Tasmania the Island immediately south of Australia and one of the Australian States.
