Hello guys,

This pen is awesome, I had two blanks of that batch and the first one did crack on me while assembling the pen. I am very satisfied with that one, it is flawless, it stays in my collection!

The log has been in the river for 80+ years and the coloration of the blank is related to the minerals in the river.

The variation of colors is just mind blowing.

26 coats of medium CA.

Thanks for looking and clicky the thumbnails!

Charles

Looks great! I think I have a couple of matching pieces! From a member who is no longer allowed!

Really clogs up the sandpaper if its the same as mine!

Charles, That is without doubt the most unique piece of wood I have ever seen and you made it into an absolutely stunning pen! Doc

It is certainly a pain, I basically just turn it to the bushing and light sand really quickly from side to side. I have found 9 other blanks of that wood and I am wondering if it is going to be as gummy. :)
