Stripe Tease

No, the blank was not made by me. I'm not so good at segmenting nor do I have the tools to accurate cutting so I let others make them. This blank was made by Jason Swanson who makes incredible blanks with excellent accuracy. I got a few from Jason when we were both demonstrating at Turn On! Chicago in 2010 but this is the first one I've been able to keep long enough to photograph. Jason calls them "Stripe Tease". The woods are walnut, cherry and hard maple. As far as I know Exotic Blanks, exoticblanks.com may be the only source for his pen blanks and maybe some of his other blanks. I don't know who else sells his larger turning blanks.

I couldn't either before purchasing my first collet chuck. I turned the blank to 3/4 inch, cut it to length and then drilled on the lathe.
