Hi,this is a gold streamline dressed in
aluminum blanks I made.Turned on my Jet mini.
Finish is something different,glass beaded.
Kind of gives a slightly frosted,subtle sparkle;
I wanted to try something different.
I like it,how about your comments?

John, I think that pen is great!It has wonderful, clean simple lines. From where I sit the kit has a copperry tone that suits it realy well.I like that centre band as it helps add to a really classy look.[:)][:)][:)]How didyou achieve that finish?

It is a form of abrasive blasting,using glass beads.
The glass media is pretty kind to aluminum,where sand
or aluminum oxide eats aluminum up fairly quick.

That's a nice look Johnny. The problem is that will get dull and easily scratched by any other metal. Clear anodizing or maybe powder coating could preserve the look.

I agree with Bruce, I think a nice flat sheen clear PC would work nice, as well as fill the pitting a bit so that it does not grab dirt and hold it in. Nice Job though, I really like the look of the blasting...

And I am almost done with the refurb on my sandblast cabinet!! All that is left is to shoot a coat of paint on the outside and put it back togather. (not bad for free) [;)]
