Steam punk Gears

I found these small gears at a bead shop, the first one is on a black painted tube and the second one is on AC foil tape. They are cast in Alumilite and are on sierra vista pens.

great pens! i really like the foil one! how do you get the gears to bend around the tube? are they thin enough to just bend by hand, or do you use something else?

Looks great.
It would look even better if you could get all the gears to be engaged as if the gears were driving each other. It looks like you were close to that on a few of the gears.

They are thin and are not tempered, I can bend the majority of the gear with my hand. The very edges I clamp with a wooden clamp on one side and tap the opposite side with a brass hammer, then repeat for the other side.

Really cool pens Max! with the foil and gears it would of been a close shave,the 2nd pen is my pick.
