Okay, so I finished my Stars & Stripes kit and thought I'd post a picture. There are a couple of problems that I'll have to address on my next one, but all in all, I think it turned out okay.

I have mine started, but need to figure out how to cut the stripes to size without destroying it. And you did nice job. Beautiful pen.

Not stealing your thread.
Thought you might like to see the same kit in a Baron.
I made this for the Chief of Staff at Dobbin ARB in Marietta.

I have mine started, but need to figure out how to cut the stripes to size without destroying it. And you did nice job. Beautiful pen.

What I did was I put all the pieces together
Put thin CA glue into the two barrels (red & blue) to glue the stripes and stars into the barrels
sanded one red ring off
sanded each end of the blue tube down a little bit (so that I could get more of the stripes)
used a drop of CA glue to glue the two halves together
sanded the other end of the stripes down to remove the second ring
glued the tube in
sanded the stripes down so that it met the pen tube
put on the lathe
used 150 to knock down the stars and to get it roughly round
used my gouge to turn the piece down to bushing diameter
CA finish

basically...the steps Constant described in his tutorial and on the video on PSI's website.

This pen is being donated to my son's school for a raffle they're having on Thursday. I've ordered a second one that will be shown to one of the political organizations in town - we'll see if that drums up some sales.
