I know, everybody who is somebody has turned one of Ken Nelson's expertly crafted kits. Well, I finally got my chance and was certainly not disappointed. The kit seems a bit overwhelming at first glance, but following the well written instructions was a breeze. I attacked it with my trusty skew gouge and was a bit nervous. I could just envision myself blowing up a $50 blank with one wrong move :(. And then, what do I tell the wife [:X]? It would be the last time she trust me with a credit card. I guess all those hours of practicing with the skew definitely paid off. I followed up with a bit of light sanding and a BLO/CA finish. A Statesman has never looked so well dressed (IMHO).

Perry is correct. Yours seems to be the first the I have seen that the white and red and the white and blue are not blured. We would love to hear how your turned and finished your pen.

No longer confused....
I have to say, of all the flags I have been looking at recently (working on one atm) this one is the best photo of the lot.

Curious to know what type of glue(s) you used on this. esp with the stars.
