I have no idea what possessed me to do these holders like this. But even with the nibs IN, they "stand up."

Anyway, I'm so happy to be able to do some turning for a few days, I wanted to show these off and see what you all think.

Zebrawood Oblique, Canarywood Oblique and Curly English Sycamore Oblique.

Cathy,

Do you make your own 'Oblique' holder or did you purchase it somewhere? I've been trying to source those but haven't been successful.

Do you have any closeups of the oblique holder itself?

THANKS,

Barney

They are suprisingly very well balanced.

I do make my own "oblique insert." If enough people are interested, I could post guide to making them yourselves. Right now I can't find the pictures I took. But I think there is one in the Member Photos in here.

More and more people are getting into calligraphy . . . like Mark. Cool, Mark! Want one?

It is really not much more complicated and they sell well!

The nib insert is in the outside section of the Oblique insert so that the nib can come in at about a 45 degree angle to the "staff" holder

Cathy,
I would be interested in any information you could give us about making them. I have several friends you do calligraphy and it would be neat to make them pens.
Thanks
