I recognize the party acrylic anywhere. Looks nice. I made one very similar for my sister-in-law about a year back. I noticed those acrylics that have chunks of different colors in them are harder to turn than the solid ones....I don't know if the material they use is harder or something. Did you find that to be the case?

I ordered the blank from Penn State. The blank was a little harder. Usually I get plenty of ribbons with the skew. This time even when sharpening often I didn't get ribbons and when it was time to sand it was noticeably rougher.
