Lou, I really like it. If the lines were a little more defined it would remind me of Spalted Tamarind!

I wonder if all of the staghorn looks like that. We used to cut this stuff down when I was a kid, I don't remember a nice grain like that. (I do remember the wood having a nasty smell when green/wet, however!
I'm looking forward to seeing this one in person, if possible!

This sumac does have lovey colouring. A rich, warm golden flax tone, complimented by the simple, yet striking grain. A very handsome pen, indeed.
