Stabilized Maple Burl

So nothing like starting making Christmas gifts early. I made this Gatsby gun metal pen for my son. I finished it with a CA Glue finish. I then took to the engraver and had his name engraved followed by filling the name with black paint to really make the name pop out.

The significance of this wood is that I took it out of my father in laws stash who passed away when my son just turned 1. Now he's 12 and I think he's really going to appreciate this.

I truly enjoyed this one.

IMHO, I would like to see the blank, with a little less "Beef", it looks like me, a Bit Too Overweight.
