The best thing another woodworker can get in my book, is praise from another woodworker. So, thanks to all of you.

For those who mentioned the centerband, it is glass, supplied by my flameworker wife who makes glass beads and jewelry. I have been incorporating glass bands, and glass tops into my designs. In fact, it is the idea of combining glass and wood into a pen that started me a year ago.

Lastly, the wood asked about is indeed flame box elder, purchased right her from one of the suppliers.
