Here's some of my spalted cross-cut dogwood. I did it as a demo for a friend that wanted to see how a pen was turned.

Did you 'raise the grain' on this one(put BLO on it)? Or is it a crotchy-spalted piece?



Crosscut grain is always great! You seem to be crankin' on some inventory! Got a show or something coming up?

Nah, I just did a regular CA finish on it. No BLO. That's how it is naturally. I harvested this tree from work. Tree was killed by carpenter ants anf spalted at the center. No shows coming up, just off work for the holidays and easily bored.
