Here's some spalted sweetgum that I had gotten from Gary Beasley!

Very nice grain pattern, IMO. I used Russell Eatons new CA finish (well, at least the one he demo'd at the GA meeting) and it finished smooth and quick!

Comments/critiques welcome!

The small photo doesnt do it justice

The spalting has such unique coloring, it had some bug holes that I have to level w/ thick CA up towards the top.

I still have some more that I will put on a component set sometime soon!

That is the most beautiful piece of a miserable wood I have ever seen. Those darned Sweetgum pods are a misery to bare footed people.
