This is from a pieces spalted pecan that I got from Bill Miller, guts. I used a presidential pen kit. I'm not sure why the upper barrel turned out darker than the lower.

Great looking pen. Love the wood and don't worry about the color of the upper barrel. The wood starts light at the nib and gets darker as it goes. Great job!

Thanks for the nice comments. The light band just above the center ring is where I got a little too close when cutting the CA at the bushing. I was going to fix that before assembly and somehow forgot to do it.

Steve,you did the wood proud,very nice looking pen,not sure what happens with the color but all I did was stabilize it.
