This wood is my first to harvest myself. It is Spanish Oak Burl which is spalted. I have a bunch of it to cut up. The picture does not do it justice!

Coach,
Does this mean I'm out of a job? LOL Nice pen, though.I am finished with my band saw, next stop lathe. I find myself day dreaming about it (not the lathe, the turning) I have so much scrap wood that I rejected for one reason or another, that I want to turn. I've got some amazing antique pine, but it looks and smells like fat wood (full of resin). Not meaning to hijack your post, so I'll put out an e-mail to a few of you guys. I love the shape of the top and the way the antler perfectly compliments the oak. You also picked out a nice, what is it called kit? I don't usually like the black ones, but it is perfect for this pen. The shape of the lower barrel seems perfect for the line in the clip too. I don't know PT terms, but I think you can follow me. I'll put it in coach terms.....TOUCHDOWN!!! What do you coach anyway?
Don't miss my C.S.Oak sale, 4 lots left.[:D]
