Firstly, sorry for the bad cell phone pics. Usually I can get a decent one but the super thick CA finish or something (my skills level) isnt allowing me to focus perfectly.

Grabbed this out of a relative's firewood stack. The grain is so wild with punky rotten pockets, it almost looks like a just stabbed it repeatedly with a tool before i put my CA finish on it.

Going to ask this question in the regular forum, but.... will the CA (soaked with thin a lot while turning and before applying around 20 coats of medium to fill all voids) stop the spalting (fungus/rotting?) process?


I will include a picture of a pen made from regular oak from the same wood pile, for comparison.
